Thing #2
Finding the time for 23 Things is problamatic for those of us who work part-time, as our time is at a premium. I just take a few minutes from the task at hand and try to accomplish one thing at a time. For me, this is akin to learning a new language. Thank you to the one who provided a link to the web glossary. I'm participating for several reasons: to keep relevant, to be able to converse with our patrons at the library, to keep up with grandchildren's learning, and to keep my own brain growing with curiosity. I don't spend a lot of time on the internet, but it is a wonderful tool with instant answers to life's questions at times. I think we must all remember though that we all need quiet time and space to process those answers. My knowledge of web 2.0 is very limited at this time. I'm looking forward to learning more as I go along.

Thing #1

This was not the most difficult thing in the world I have ever done, but we learn by mistakes. To set up this blog took two tries, as I had neglected to check if anyone else was using the display name I had selected. Checking with my manager was the next best thing to try. Hurray for the younger set! This is not intuitive for those of us of a certain age, but a wonderful challenge for those of us who wish to keep up with all the latest ways of communicating. I wonder if my grandparents had similar thoughts to mine as the telephone was being invented and made more available to the general public.
